I think the built-in navigation is much better than the Apple Maps navigation, hence why I wanted to use the Audi one. But the reason for having the phone connected via CarPlay was because I think accessing music, podcasts etc. is easier with CarPlay, and less fiddly than with the Audi MMI Bluetooth route.

I can’t believe Audi released such obviously broken software. It’s a joke. I hope they are aware of how broken it is and are working on a fix. I have a ‘19 Lexus and everything works fine. Granted, it’s a wired CarPlay connection, but it connects within a half second of me plugging my phone in and I never have any issue. PRO- It is nice to have the address book in the front cluster. CarPlay: Maps- Pro, I find that Apple Maps is better than the native audi map application. Con - Hate that you can't put the Apple CarPlay map in the front cluster. Phone Services - Pro, I think using your iPhone service is much nicer and easier than MMI.
