I downloaded a free copy of Publisher after installing Office 2016, and now they want a product key, but not the one for my software. When I downloaded the free version there was no mention of a product key. This thread is locked. You can vote as helpful, but you cannot reply or subscribe to this thread. After speaking to Microsoft customer care they advise me to uninstall Microsoft 365 (as it was not inbuilt in my laptop as per the serial no)and sent me the link to install office 2019. I have installed office 2019 and signed in using my Microsoft account, but still they are asking for product key. Kindly advise, the free version of office 2019They said they had to log in remotely & install office with their own copy of Office 2019 & that there wasn't a product key & if I needed to reinstall again I would need to get them to log in again. Can someone tell me if this is right as it seems wrong to me that after paying for Office I don't even get a product key. Install, redeem, activate.
Open any Office application, such as Word or Excel. Click on the “File” tab in the top-left corner of the window. In the “Account” section, click on the “Activate Product” button. A window will appear asking you to enter your product key. The product key is a 25-character code that came with your copy of Office 2019.
